Marketing Derby, on behalf of Derby City Council, approached the practice in order to provide a futuristic vision of what might be achieved on key sites within the City of Derby. Three regeneration sites were identified; the Assembly Rooms on Derby Market Place; the Riverside and Duckworth Square in ‘The Lanes’ quarter. Utilising a 3d model of the City, our designs provided a futuristic central focal building to the market place, replacing the Assembly Rooms with a mixed development of shops, a hotel and apartments.

The Riverside site indicates contemporary apartments, making the most of City and Riverside living, whilst Duckworth Square is shown to be opened-up to Victoria Street with a significant new futuristic Theatre and Centre for the Arts. These images were used in 2015 to promote the Marketing Derby and Derby City Councils aspiration to think ‘out of the box’ whilst promoting the City as an investment opportunity for incoming investors.
