Cricket Club submit plans for new Pavilion
Matthew Montague Architects have submitted a planning application for the demolition and redevelopment of Brailsford and Ednaston Cricket Club Pavilion. The cricket club is located in the village of Brailsford 8 miles north of Derby, off the A52 on the route to Ashbourne.
The Club has ambitious plans for the future and the current facilities are in a poor state of repair, in need of modernisation and are not conducive to the club achieving their expansion plans. The plans submitted for approval are for the demolition of all existing facilities and the construction of a new single storey club house building, storage unit and practice nets. The proposed building will be mainly timber clad with white render and aluminium bi-folding doors and windows. This together with a mineral tiled roof will give a real feeling of traditional English countryside cricket club. The proposed building provides modern changing facilities for male, female and disabled cricketers.
The club house is to be re-located to maximise the aspect and views of the Cricket pitch. We expect to hear a decision from the local authority planning department early summer 2018.
