Phase 1 of the development of Repton’s Schools Sports Facilities Completed.
Phase 1 of the development of Repton School’s Sports Facilities involved creating a new strength and conditioning gym and sports hall is now complete and open for use.
The development comprises of 1250 square meter state of the art sports hall, the strength and conditioning gym, two brand new glass backed squash courts, changing rooms, seating and sports storage area.
A new science priory was constructed on the site in 2013 and the architectural language of the new proposals respects and identifies with this building which is located on the elevated plane on the south of the site.
The walls are generally clad in dark and light grey profiled steel cladding, mainly smooth with standing seam. The visual massing of the new sports hall is broken up using contrasting greys, areas of external brick/blockwork, and exposing the structure to the western end of the building.
The Sports Hall was officially opened on the 7th December 2018 when the school welcomed back a host of OR’s who helped showcase the development with both hockey and netball matches and demonstrations.
Work has already commenced on Phase two of the project which will see the existing Tanyard building extended and refurbished.
