Planning permission granted for apartment development on Kedleston Road.
Planning permission has been granted for a new apartment development on Kedleston Road just one mile from Derby City Centre.
The development is for a four-storey brick apartment building comprising 14 apartments. These apartments, ranging from 69 to 74 square meters, offer a modern living space designed to cater to the needs of residents.
The design philosophy behind the external facade of the building aims to create a rich and dynamic composition of windows and balconies set within a uniform grid. The use of full-height glazing panels and deep reveal depths further enhances the facade, giving the building a modern and elegant appearance.
The apartments will be situated in a popular residential area between the Jonty Farmer pub and the Brook Medical Centre. In line with city planning regulations, the building will be set back from the road to avoid overlooking nearby properties, ensuring a harmonious blend with the surrounding environment.
We are thrilled to have received planning permission for this development," said Matthew Montague, lead architect at Matthew Montague Architects. "Our team has worked diligently to create a design that not only enhances the local area but also provides high-quality living spaces for future residents."
The approval from Derby City Council marks a significant milestone for the project, with planning documents highlighting the thoughtfully designed aspects of the building, including a soft landscaped buffer zone between the building and the road to minimise impact on adjacent properties.
As the development moves forward, the developer is committed to providing a detailed construction management plan to ensure that the building process is carried out efficiently and with minimal disruption to the local community.

Hard to believe the proportions of the image are correct. For example, the ground floor windows are about the same height as the car. The 3rd floor roof is lower than the lamppost!?
