Spectacular £2.5m Super Home Redefining Design Standards.

We have issued practical completion on a new spectacular £2.5m super home in Windley, six miles north of Derby within open countryside.

A former sawmill and timber yard has been demolished and a contemporary 7500 square foot ultra-smart home has been built. The elevated property is built into the hillside, it curves and moulds into the contours of the land.

Securing planning for the new home in this idyllic location goes back as far as 2011, when change of use of the site from commercial to residential was granted. Later the same year Amber Valley Borough Council embraced the concept of a one-off, exceptional, contemporary designed home on the site. Matthew Montague Architects designed the house and secured planning in 2012.

Fast forward to 2022, the McLaren Property Group took the reins of this visionary project, culminating 18 months later in the completion of the spectacular 6 bedroomed contemporary upside-down house. It is largely of open plan design with a grand entrance hall with feature floating staircase.

The staircase leads to an open plan kitchen, living and dining area with curved roof and large full height windows. The upper floor benefits from a wraparound terrace with breath taking views of the countryside.
